Sweet Gum Pumpkin Patch

My husband and I began growing a garden in 2007 as a fun summer project. We had never grown anything before. I grew up watching and helping my grandfather in his garden, so I was confident we could do it. Also, I was curious to see if we could get something to grow on a piece of land where we were told, "nothing can grow back there." I also just wanted to enjoy watching it grow. We planted them on Good Friday 2007 and by late August we had a huge response.

We experienced great success on our first attempt and learned some valuable lessons. I am pleased to share with you the story of the Sweet Gum Pumpkin Patch!
